About this jar
Very square, very Canadian, and full of character. This pint has crisp, straight sides and a bilingual "Jarre" on the glass, which gives it a charming, well-travelled look on any shelf.
Use it for pantry staples, a little basil plant on the windowsill, or a small cloud of baby's breath. Square sides make it easy to line up in a tidy row, and it looks lovely with a simple twine-tied label.
A little history: bilingual Canadian Mason jars like this one, with French on the glass, were only made for a short window, from about 1976 to about 1980.
Canadian Mason jars came in lots of variations, so browse our Canadian Mason collection to find a match.

Vintage jars are from the 1970s or earlier, with embossed logos and a lot of history. Modern jars are generally made after the 1970s, or are still in production today.
Every jar is checked for chips, cracks and rust, whichever era it's from.
Given their age, we have to assume these jars are used. Some have slight signs of aging, like small scratches in the surface.
Jars like these are perfectly dishwasher safe.
We don't actually give out canning advice because we're jar experts, not canning experts! You can visit FreshPreserving.com or Bernardin.ca. (Fun fact: Bernardin, Ball, Kerr and Golden Harvest are all owned and manufactured by Newell Brands, their parent company.)
No, we don't value or date jars, though we do love to see pictures of your collections. We recommend The Red Book of Fruit Jars by Douglas M. Leybourne Jr. for your jar valuation needs. Keep in mind that collector value and market value can vary wildly.
