Can I order something that is out of stock?

Our online system does not let you add anything to your cart that we don't have. We have nothing on backorder or pre-order unless it's specifically mentioned in the product title where you can't miss it.

If something is low in stock and someone buys it before you, you might not be able to check out until you adjust the quantity of that item in your cart.

The item I want is out of stock, now what?

Keep checking back. We add new treasures every week. Make sure you're signed up for our email list and social media channels, as we often share pre-order opportunities and restock details there.

Can you give me canning advice?

We don't actually give out canning advice because we're jar experts, not canning experts. You can visit FreshPreserving.com or Bernardin.ca.

What's the difference between vintage and modern jars?

Vintage jars are from the 1970s or earlier, with embossed logos and a lot of history. They are no longer in production and haven't been since around the 1970s.

Every one is checked for chips, cracks and rust, and once a style is gone we don't know when we'll find more.

Modern jars are generally made after the 1970s, or are still in production today, from brands like Ball, Kerr, and Bernardin.

Are vintage jars new or used?

Given their age, we have to assume these jars are used. Some have slight signs of aging, like small scratches in the surface. We occasionally have boxes of unopened jars that are brand new in the box (BNIB), and those are very clearly labeled in the listing.
