A beautiful addition to any collection, these 'Self Sealing - Trade Mark Reg.' (Square) Wide Mouth Quart mason jars were manufactured in the 1950's. They are heavier and more detailed than their similar more modern counterparts. These jars are no longer in production.

All jars are guaranteed to be free of cracks and rust, though vintage jars can have very slight "flea bites" in the rim or other small cosmetic chips that do not affect the performance of the jar.
This listing is for one jar as shown. Jars do not come with a lid so that you can choose exactly what you want here: wide mouth jar lids.
This jar will fit any Wide Mouth Lid or Accessory.
Approximate dimensions:
Height -6 1/2 inches high without the lid.
Diameter -3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest point.
Volume -1 Litre / 1 Quart / 32 oz to the neck of the jar.
Each jar is inspected and guaranteed free of cracks and rust. Due to their vintage nature, embossing depth may vary slightly.
'Flea bites', tiny chips in the rim, threding, neck or embossing of the jar are considered normal for a vintage jar and may be present as long as they don't hinder the safe use of the jar.

Hi, I’m Marie, the heart (and muscle) behind Mason Jar Merchant. For me, mason jars are so much more than containers! A gift of beautiful vintage jars from my husband’s grandmother sparked a personal love for these versatile jars that quickly grew into a passion and I love sharing their possibilities with others.
As my collection grew, so did my creativity. I began crocheting cozies, painting lids, making custom straw tops, and of course, mason jar tumblers.

Sometimes - depending on the size and quality of a collection. Please email us a complete itemized list with plenty of pictures and your asking price.

Do you date or value vintage jars or collections?
No, we don't value or date jars, though we do love to see pictures of your collections. We recommend The Red Book of Jars by Douglas M. Leybourne Jr. for your jar valuation needs. Keep in mind that the collector value and market value can vary wildly.
Are these jars new or used?
Given the age, we have to assume these jars are used. Some have slight signs of aging, small scratches in the surface, etc.
