Smoothie shown in a Wide Mouth Pint Jar with Paper Straws
Who doesn't love a strawberry milkshake. Only crazy people. And maybe if you're allergic to strawberries, then I'll give you a pass on the crazy card.
I developed this fantastic smoothie recipe up out of sheer taste-desperation on the HCG diet. Those of you that have done HCG may recognize that whey protein is not strictly allowed on the diet, but we do also mix our veggies and seem to do just fine. We're living on the edge.
I throw this together in my Vitamix for anywhere between 2 and 4 people so the serving size varies slightly but all told this is a very low calorie VERY YUMMY snack or meal replacement.

INGREDIENTS:
Raw Whey Powder I buy this in the 5lb bag on Amazon. (Yes, you can import this into Canada though the border guard wanted to inspect the package).
Frozen Organic Sliced Strawberries Right now I get these at Costco, I will cry if and when they stop carrying them.
Organic Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk I'm a fan of Pacific Foods brand. Totally unnecessary, but I throw a little in anyway.
Real Vanilla Extract
Water
INSTRUCTIONS:
I pour my Almond milk into my blender, turn it on LOW and add my whey powder, vanilla and stevia first, then add the strawberries and enough water to get everything going.
I use 2 scoops of whey protein (provided in the bag) PER PERSON.
I add about 1/2 -1 cup frozen strawberry slices (still frozen!) per person depending on how many people I am serving, my vitamix can hold about 10 cups if I really push it.
I use about 1/4-1/3 cup almond milk per person.
I love vanilla so I add a big glug,
Add enough water that your blender is mixing everything well, and last, add stevia last to taste.
Serve in a cute mason jar with a glass smoothie straw and you're good to go!
